Do you believe in signs?

There is a pretty large percentage of the population at large that believes in destiny. That the gods/god/universe has laid out a plan for each of us and that we merely live out that predetermined fate. The problem is that we don’t know the plan so we bumble through life making decisions and we aren’t really sure if those choices were part of the plan or not. How do you get to your chosen future if you don’t know what is your chosen path?

So a lot of it comes down to signs. We see/hear/feel things and we think the universe is giving us a hint at what our choice should be. When I say we, I mean us women because men aren’t so much into the subtleties of life of the most part – they are more the blunt and up front and centre types. For a woman in love, there are signs everywhere that indicate that this man is the one…or if they are no signs, we are desperately seeking meaning in every little thing in order to validate a chosen mate that maybe we are a) not too sure is the one b) our friends tell us is not the one c) doesn’t seem to want to be the one.

I have to say in my most recent run at love & heartache there have been signs every where. It is actually a bit creepy…I feel like the universe is really trying to tell me something but I am not sure what it is. Are these signs that point directly at this guy trying to say he’s the one or run away? That’s the problem with cosmic interference in our daily lives: it’s always very vague.

Being that I’ve decided that this guy isn’t going to be the one, I find signs that point me back towards him frustrating. I feel like the universe is just not getting the situation. He’s not that into me and he lives 3000 miles away – give it a rest with all the reminders of him. I feel like the universe isn’t being constructive because if he really is the one, then how come the path hasn’t lead me to him? How come the sign hasn’t been a job offer in his vicinity or him showing up on my doorstep with roses? Those type of signs would be appreciated; having Chinese food delivered in boxes with his name on it, is decidedly not.

So, do we ignore the signs? Take them as just comic coincidence and nothing more? Or do we start to really pay attention to what direction our destiny may be?
